Swollen Laminate Worktop

To do this remove the baseboard or quarter round and then take the flooring apart one row at a time until you reach the swollen section of flooring. Use a laminate roller. If exposed to water the chipboard underneath a laminate benchtop can swell and bulge which can be rather unsightly and annoying to work on.

The culprit that caused the swelling is the particle board underneath. Chipboard worktops are made from chips of dry wood stuck together with glue under high presue many tons when moisture or any liquid gets under the laminate they de glue and swell. Real wood prime oak. Use the spatula to scrape off any excess paste. Basically any plastic laminate countertop which has a special type edge is going to need to be completely replaced if water has damaged the seam area. Nuance compact laminate 12mm.

Squeeze a good amount of the laminate repair paste onto the spatula and apply to the damaged area ensuring the scratch or chip is completely filled with the paste.
