Increase Garage Door Height

I removed some siding and and re did the trim on the top of the door and then recovered every thing with aluminum and installed new rubber garage door sill around the opening.
Increase garage door height. Measure the backroom the distance from the garage door opening to the back wall of the garage. That made my door height two inches taller. Garage door spring systems are counter balances for the weight of the garage door. Standard systems require 10 inches of headroom while some require 12 inches while garage door openers often require an additional three inches of clearance.
One way to do it would be to get wall extensions for the entire the garage and then cut the roof of the garage off lifting it up to the height you want it. A well balanced garage door should feel like you are only lifting 5 10 pounds and can be easily lifted with one hand. If the weight of the garage door increases then the spring system will not be strong enough to properly and safely lift the garage door. Step 4 test the opener to see if the door height is now at the desired level.
Older homes have smaller openings for garage doors making it more difficult to fit modern vehicles in. Turn it only a quarter of a turn. If you wish for the door opening height to increase you will turn the up or open screw in a clockwise direction.
